They have length, width, depth, time, and stranger qualities that even our many eyes cannot identify, that our graceful fingers cannot grasp. Sometimes their true beauty evades us, while at other times we get tangled up in them. Would you, my children, like me to tell you a story of how I was a child, and how the patterns came to fall as they have for me and mine? Because the hours are long before you emerge into the world, and you will all need to master the patterns. It is your birthright.
